Last week marked the end of a month of drop in sessions at the community garden. We were lucky to have Melissa, gardening expert with South Riverdale, help us tend to the garden and engage us all in the ways of growing our food.

You may have noticed some straw on one of the beds. There’s garlic under there. We will harvest it next August as garlic grows best slowly throughout our colder months and into summer. What a funny crop!

Below are some pictures of the kids and Melissa planting about 40 bulbs of garlic.
