Yesterday, I saw a fellow community member at the library. She told me she’s noticed that a ‘weed’ has taken over a number of the garden beds. She informed me that in Turkey it’s usually eaten as a salad with tomatoes and a dressing of lemon juice, olive oil and salt. The ‘weed’ is called ‘purslane’. If you’re looking to try something new for dinner tonight, come by the garden and pick some! Surely with all the rain we received today the purslane will be doing well!
